Розроблено підходи до застосування ситуаційної композиції в техніко-тактичній підготовці хокеїстів. Передбачено, що у процесі навчання спортсменів сприятливі ситуації повинні чергуватися з критичними і бути пов’язані зі специфічним змістом. Для успішної реалізації дій необхідні знання про закономірності гри, умови конкретної ділянки ігрового поля. Ця інформація дозволить більш ефективно сприймати умови гри і формувати ситуації у свідомості гравців композиційно.
